The Retreat 2018 is the tabletop gaming weekend, in Birmingham, where you will be able to play some crowdfunded games along with a wide variety of other games.
 

 

The Retreat is run by two Event Management students, for their final project. The intention is to make this a yearly event, with collectable items for each year. 

 

The event will begin at approximately 10am Saturday 11th August and end around 1600 Sunday 12th August at the Birmingham Marriott!

 

Each ticket includes:

4* Accommodation for the night of Saturday 11th August at the Birmingham Mariott Hotel

Snacks during the day (morning and afternoon)

Pens and paper (useful for our roleplay games we have planned)

2x Lunch and 1x Breakfast

Workshops, including a creative story-writing exercise workshop

All available games to play out of our library

Games room usage until 11pm on the Saturday

Support for two Masters level students in their Event Management Final Project

Workshops that have been announced: 

1) Writing better stories for Roleplay Games.
This will be a workshop around writing creatively and being able to work with situations that are unexpected.

 

2) How to keep your rpg game flowing.
We will hear from a streamer about how they like to keep their games flowing and maintain interest levels.

 

3) Character Creation, making a character more than stats.
Practice making a character that is more than just stats, make them a real personality and have the stats reflect that, rather than the other way around.

 

Also, there will be a mini-campaign run throughout the weekend for Triumvene. This will be run by Pete, the creator of the system, which is a very special opportunity for those who are able to join in.
